the time of making

Overcast day, drizzly, perfect day for frogs. Lovely that the pond we dug upon arrival (I asked the digger driver to dig it, lined it later with butyl rubber, it is square, too square, too late again this year to do anything about it) is the breeding home for so many frogs year after year.
Do they know something we don’t, do they know something I suspect, that spring will come much earlier this year than last year. For very personal reasons I remember that 7 years ago today was a glorious day, the sunday that I started making beds for that growing season. The winter had been milder so the grass had to be cut first. Time is not linear to me.
